Is Making A Sequel to “The Exorcist” A Huge Mistake?

In 1973, William Friedkin set off to present William Blatty’s epic, THE EXORCIST, to the big screen. The account of a little girl moved by an evil spirit, THE EXORCIST imparted dread in crowds. Assuming the subject of demonic possession and a dubious Catholic ceremony made certain to knock some people’s socks off.

However, after numerous bizarre and cataclysmic events, many became persuaded that the film set and the actual film were reviled by an evil spirit. They believed it to be cursed.

Shooting was delayed after the set caught fire

Ellen Burstyn, who played Reagan’s mother, was actually injured when the possessed Reagan throws her to the ground.

Actors Jack MacGowran, and Vasiliki Maliaros both died while the film was in post-production. What makes their deaths strange is that their characters died in the film as well.

Other deaths Linda Blair’s grandfather and Max Von Sydow’s brother.

In 1987, entertainer Mercedes McCambridge, who played the devilish voice of Pazuzu, suffered a terrible misfortune when her son killed his significant other and youngsters prior to ending his own life.

Many believe remaking this film is an invitation for more deaths and injuries to occur. The cast and crew better be wary of what could happen. Not really sure it would be worth the paycheck to work on this film.
